Answer: Dementia Condition Dementia is an a term used to describe a wide range of symptoms that are associated with memory loss and other thinking skills that are capable of affecting individuals activities (Swaffer, 2014). Professionals who Treat Dementia Mental Health care professionals are those that operate mental issues in all areas of healthcare including psychology, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and surgery or a public health worker (Swaffer, 2014). Curing Dementia Dementia treatment depends on its cause. Aricept and other inhibitors of acetylcholinesterase which include rivastigmine and galantamine (Kovach, 2012). Caring for Dementia Individuals Services provided for people with dementia are social services and are offered by home care workers who help these people when they are at home (Kovach, 2012). The importance of teaching undergraduate students on dementia is because the condition is becoming increasingly common. All individuals in care of secondary or primary care environments ought to be competent enough to handle patients with such conditions. According to Swaffer (2014), it is not clear whether the medical education is up to date in order to fit its purpose. There are many patients occupying the hospital beds with admissions spreading across a wide range of specialties. Need for educating the students and the community at large is therefore important for dementia care is crucial to the patients. The dementia care in the community is important as the majority of people with this condition stay at home under the care of auspices of general practice. With the increasing population today, it also means that the level of dementia cases will also rise. The need to train the undergraduate is hence important for the students must be prepared to offer the help to the dementia pat ients.
